Home HVAC and Plumbing Service in Kansas City
Heating, cooling, and plumbing for Kansas City homes.
When the furnace quits in January, the AC blows warm in July, or there's a puddle under the water heater, you want one call that handles it. TCS Services KC takes care of heating, cooling, and plumbing for homeowners across the Kansas City metro. Owner Ryan Thomas holds both Master Mechanical and Master Plumbing licenses, so the same team can work on your furnace, your AC, and your pipes.
HVAC Repair and Replacement
We find the real problem before we fix anything. Common calls include:
Furnaces: no heat, short cycling, ignition or flame sensor trouble, blower motor failures, odd noises or smells
Air conditioners: warm air, frozen coils, refrigerant leaks, failed capacitors and contactors, clogged condensate drains
Heat pumps: trouble switching modes, weak heat in cold weather, defrost problems
Airflow: weak airflow, uneven rooms, duct problems
Your technician explains what's wrong in plain language and gives you your options before work starts. If your system is near the end of its life and repairs no longer add up, we'll say so.
AC and Furnace Installation
A new system should fit your home, not just the last one's label. We look at square footage, layout, insulation, windows, and ductwork before recommending equipment, then install central air, gas furnaces, and heat pumps to code, along with any duct changes the new system needs. We test everything, haul away the old equipment, and show you how to run it.
It may be time to replace if repairs are getting more frequent, rooms stay uneven, bills keep climbing, or you're finishing a basement or adding space.
Ductless Mini Splits
Mini splits heat and cool a single room or zone without ductwork, which makes them a good fit for additions, garages, finished basements, and rooms the central system never quite reaches. We repair and replace ductless systems for year-round comfort.
Humidifiers and Thermostats
Kansas City winters dry out a house fast. A whole-house humidifier adds moisture through your HVAC system, so you're not filling portable units every morning. We also install and troubleshoot programmable and smart thermostats and fix wiring faults and zoning problems.
Water Heaters (Tank and Tankless)
We repair and replace gas and electric water heaters in both styles.
Repair: no hot water or running out fast, pilot and burner problems, failed elements and thermostats, leaking valves, sediment rumbling, tankless error codes and scale buildup. A leaking tank body usually means replacement, and we'll tell you straight.
Tank: simple and familiar. We size it for your household and handle venting, gas connections, expansion tanks, and relief valve piping.
Tankless: heats water on demand, so back-to-back showers don't run you out, and it mounts on the wall to save space. Switching usually means gas, venting, or electrical changes, which we plan as one job.
KC's fairly hard water builds scale and sediment, so we'll explain the flushing or descaling your unit needs.
Plumbing Repair
Leaks: dripping faucets, running toilets, supply lines, hidden leaks behind walls or under floors
Drains: sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, and floor drains. We clear the clog and look for the cause so it doesn't keep coming back.
Fixtures: faucets, sinks, toilets, garbage disposals, and sump pumps
Repiping: aging galvanized or corroded pipes cause low pressure, discolored water, and repeat leaks. We repipe the whole house or just the problem sections.
Water and Sewer Lines
Backups in more than one fixture, gurgling drains, sewage smells, or soggy spots in the yard can point to a cracked, sagging, or root-filled line. We repair or replace damaged sections of water and sewer lines, from older neighborhoods to newer subdivisions.
Gas Lines
We install and repair gas piping for furnaces, water heaters, ranges, dryers, and outdoor appliances, and hook up new appliances safely and to code. Because we hold both licenses, gas work tied to a new furnace or water heater doesn't need a second contractor.
Homeowner FAQ
Should I repair or replace my furnace or AC?
It depends on the system's age, the size of the repair, and how often it's breaking down. We'll give you an honest recommendation after diagnosing it, and the decision is yours.
What should I check before calling?
Make sure the thermostat is set correctly and has power, the breaker hasn't tripped, and the air filter isn't clogged. If those look fine, call us.
Is a tankless water heater worth it?
It can be for households that use a lot of hot water or want to free up space. We'll explain what your installation involves before you decide.
What do I do if my water heater is leaking?
Shut off the main water valve (or the heater's cold-water supply and its gas or power), then call (913) 530-8789.
